The twilight hour at SLMP

MGI has assembled a cast of hand-selected young professionals for the 2009 One Lap venture. Each is invaluable in enabling our overall success. Our car, a 2008 Subaru STI, will be mildly modified by MGI’s standards. Since this is our first time competing in OLOA, our primary goals are to successfully complete all stages of the event, and to survive the 6000+ miles of road trip relatively unscathed. The STI will be fitted with enough electronics to be hazardous to your health,  geared for support while traveling the distance. We have spent countless hours planning for this trip, and we have every expectation of a successful showing at One Lap 2009.

The STI:

For those of you that live under a rock, this car has a 2.5L DOHC Turbocharged & Intercooled 4-cylinder engine that pumps out over 300 hp and 290 ft-lbs from the factory. The car comes equipped with Brembo brakes, symmetrical AWD, a driver-controlled center differential, front and rear limited-slip differentials, and a long heritage in world rally racing. The car has been modified for additional power and for better braking and handling. The goal was to improve upon the car’s performance without significantly increasing the likelihood of a breakdown. This is definitely not a competitor-crushing build, considering the caliber of competition present at One Lap in the past, which includes many $100k+ supercars.

• 275-40 Kumho XS tires (This requires a rear fender roll on the ‘08 STI – THANKS to T3h_Clap for his help in wheel & tire fitment)
• TurboXS 3″ downpipe
• Hayward & Scott 3″ dual exhaust

• Air-Oil Separator
• 22mm Front and Rear Swaybars (THANK YOU to Josh at Import Image Racing, he has just about everything you need for your STI build)
• Urethane steering rack bushings
• Carbotech brake pads, titanium shims and ATE blue
